HISTORY

The St Brigids precinct is the heart of a community established by Irish immigrants who settled at Crossley from the 1840s. The highest rate of Irish migration outside of the major cities has seen strong Irish influence in this part of  south-west Victoria in terms of local politics, family, church and community life and the physical development of the district

CULTURE

St Brigid's continues to be  a vibrant cultural community with weekly Irish dancing classes, a vibrant community of traditional musicians who meet weekly and plans for an Irish language class to begin in 2018.

COMMUNITY

The Friends of St Brigids Assoc Inc (FoSB) are the caretakers of this community owned precinct in Sth West Victoria that celebrates a unique Australian Irish history.
